Prescriptives Platform
The Prescriptives Platform is a set of best practices that all Members agree to implement to the best of their ability upon joining Caring Communities. They represent a shared commitment to resident safety and continuous improvement across Member organizations. While resident safety is the top priority, the prescriptives also serve to reduce the frequency and severity of claims protecting your own and your fellow Members overall investment.
The Prescriptives Platform supports a proactive approach to risk management and outlines essential steps and practices that help organizations build and maintain systems focused on preventing harm before it occurs. The Platform is designed to be continuous and evolving. We understand that every organization is unique. The Prescriptives provide structure and support, while also allowing flexibility to address organization-specific risks.
Supplemental Guidance
To improve consistency and support, we’ve developed Supplemental Guidance to accompany the Prescriptives Platform. This new resource helps Risk Management Liaisons better understand both the why and the how behind each Prescriptive. The Guidelines outline Management’s rationale and offer practical recommendations, tools, and templates to support implementation. Members retain full flexibility to determine how best to apply each Prescriptive and whether to use or adapt the provided resources.
Please Note: The Prescriptives Platform and Supplemental Guidance provide best practice recommendations and are not intended to establish duties or standards of care. When implementation is applicable, Members should consider applicable licensure requirements, regulations, laws, and the unique needs of each community. The Prescriptives are not meant to replace your survey process related to accrediting bodies, federal or state regulations.
